Ryan
When two dark souls connect the draw is too dominant to ignore and the obsession of owning the only color to brighten my dark world too unrelenting to not obey. I left her alone so she could live a normal life but I was weak, how can she live a normal life after so much sinister chaos invaded her world, summoning her own darkness to the surface? The depraved devil that is me now had an anchor, someone to venture into the black abyss with. Normal wasn’t a path ever set for Cereus. She was her Father’s daughter but my soul mate, even if I disputed ever owning one. She was struggling without me in her life, the vacant ache inside her leaking out. I can’t not go to her, the need is too strong and like with all of my urges I embrace it.
ASH'S REVIEW
OOOOOH Ryan!
Let me start by saying that I absolutely love this whole series. Vacant must be read after Empathy and Desolate.
We left Desolate with Cereus reading a note from Ryan and him finding his other half brother.
Cereus is falling apart at college she has a nemesis Hannah and only one friend Randal. She feels a deep loss that cannot heal after losing Ryan and nothing not even time is healing the wound.
Ryan has found his brother and his urges are far from gone. he is trying to ignore the pull to go to Cereus, but is bored with his brothers mundane life.
I don’t want to put spoilers in here because Ker writes the most unbelievable story. I still love Ryan, and now I love Cereus too. Though they are are some of the darkest characters you will ever meet this is just an amazing story. (Please let there be more Ker?)
